However, it was her fifth attempt that clinched the record, as the javelin soared past the 64-meter mark, much to the delight of the spectators and her coach, Baljeet Singh.
“I’ve been working tirelessly on my technique and strength, and today’s result is a testament to the hard work put in by my team and me,” Annu Rani said after her record-breaking performance. “Setting a new national record is always special, but my focus is now on the upcoming World Championships. I want to bring glory to India on the global stage.”

Her consistent performances over the past year have established her as one of India’s top athletes in field events, and she continues to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Coach Baljeet Singh, who has been instrumental in refining Rani’s technique and conditioning, expressed his pride in her accomplishment. “Annu has been incredibly focused and dedicated to her training. Breaking the national record is a huge milestone, but we are aiming even higher. The goal is to deliver a world-class performance at the World Championships,” he stated.
The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) also congratulated Annu Rani on her achievement, with AFI President Adille Sumariwalla praising her dedication and perseverance. “Annu’s new national record is a significant achievement for Indian athletics. She has been a consistent performer and continues to inspire young athletes across the country. We are confident she will make India proud at the World Championships,” Sumariwalla remarked.
