PATIALA: In a remarkable display of strength and precision, Indian javelin thrower Annu Rani shattered her own national record at the Indian Grand Prix held at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports. Rani launched the javelin to an astonishing distance of 64.05 meters, surpassing her previous record of 63.24 meters set during the Federation Cup earlier this year.
The 29-year-old athlete from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, dominated the competition from the outset. On her very first attempt, she threw the javelin to a distance of 62.75 meters, setting the tone for the event. However, it was her fifth attempt that clinched the record, as the javelin soared past the 64-meter mark, much to the delight of the spectators and her coach, Baljeet Singh.
“I’ve been working tirelessly on my technique and strength, and today’s result is a testament to the hard work put in by my team and me,” Annu Rani said after her record-breaking performance. “Setting a new national record is always special, but my focus is now on the upcoming World Championships.
